Replit, Amjad Masad and the self-driving company
The self-driving company is a killer concept: every company with its own brain, context, shared knowledge and agents that do real work. We're aiming for it.

Interesting conversation with Carlos Gonzalez de Villaumbrosia and Amjad Masad about the self driving company.
It's a killer aspirational concept where every company has its own brain and context and shared knowledge and agents that can do real work. It is something we are really aiming for at Propel Ventures. We are still a long way from having real digital co-workers, but we are on our way.
Whilst I love using claude code and codex - I can see how Replit is a fabulous solution for enterprise app development for small business owners. In fact Paul Greenwell chose it to start Propel's internal app.
It's a great way to start building your own business operating system / brain because it is a neat one-stop shop for making software (infra, security, privacy etc..). They also claim to be able to route the queries automatically to the appropriate model and that saves token costs by circa 40%. We started by using replit to build Propel's central app and it kick-started it for us.
I also like it when the CEO is a solid thought leader and Amjad Masad is the real deal. He also explained how Replit is no overnight success, they have been going at it for almost 10 years. It would have been lonely for him when he started!! Now he is far from lonely!!
